FRIDAY NIGHT UPDATE

We had our Friday night meeting yesterday and it was awesome. A team of four of us went in and it is certainly no understatement to say that “God is working and touching lives of several young inmates”.

Last night we went in prepared to share on something totally different but the Holy Spirit changed things around in a good way as one the young inmates asked if it was “OK” to pray and ask God to kill someone? Of course, we said, “No, were not to ask God to kill people!” and that lead us into some real good ministry in dealing with unforgiveness.

We started out sharing the parable of the unmerciful servant (Matthew 18:21-35), where Jesus was asked how many times we should forgive? We then shared from Ephesians 4:26 where it says “not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” We shared how anger can lead to bitterness and how the devil tries to entrap and ensnare us in anger, rage, hatred, and how these things most often lead us into taking revenge. We talked about how it is the Lord who will deal with the wrongs, His way and His timing and how we need to trust God and pray for the people who wronged us. It was a great time of ministry.

The three guys (Darren, Jeremy and Justin) that came in with me to minister did a great job of sharing from their experiences and tying it into the Word. These three young guys are really on fire for Jesus and it was neat seeing how God is using these guys in a great way to minister and it seems that the young inmates relate well with these guys as they were listening intently as God was dealing with them.

At the tail end of the meeting we all prayed releasing any unforgiveness and anger we were holding on too. I lead the young inmates in a prayer asking the Lord to forgive any offenses they were not letting go of and to place them at the foot of the Cross asking the Lord to help them deal with them in love. It was powerful as God was touching their lives and cleansing hurt and pain. Praise God!!

Please keep these Friday night meetings in prayer. God is really doing a great work here and young lives are being changed.
