Ministry With Masters Commission at South Bend Juvenile Facility

The ministry at South Bend Juvenile yesterday was great!...I know people we praying because of the fact that entering into the facility went very smooth. Many times bringing in props, equipment and stuff into a full locked down prison can be time consuming and a frustrating ordeal-but it went very good. I know that God was in the midst from beginning to end. Also, the staff at the facility was great to work with. Many were thanking us for coming in they helped us out, they were cooperative and a blessing.

The Masters Commission group did a great job. These young adults have a great heart to minister and evangelize. God is working big time in their lives. It was an honor to be ministering with them.

All 120+ young inmates attended the meeting. So it was a little noisy and rowdy at first. But some of the funnier skits at the beginning broke the ice and won the young inmates over and the more serious dramas were touching their hearts, as God was moving and drawing many. John, the leader of the group had a great word explaining the cross and the choice we as individuals need to make to follow Jesus. He tied his message into the last skit “daring to move” (a Switchfoot song)- it was powerful.

The prayer/altar time with the guys went great. Many came up for prayer. The young inmates I prayed with seemed very sincere and wanted God to help them in their struggles. We were able to invite many to attend the Life Line meetings we have every Friday. Many of the guys assured they would come to the meeting and learn more about Jesus. We must have prayed with at least half the guys or more as they kept coming up to all of us for prayer. It was powerful and the Holy Sprit was doing a work on so many.

Ministering Jesus On the Streets...Testimonies

The weather was fantastic! And the outreach was great! Thirteen of us went out to minister Jesus this afternoon; we ministered around the Langle Park area- the Lord is sure doing a great work in this area. Most of the people we met brought up the Ham that the Lord blessed them with for Christmas, many were telling me how they cooked the ham and how good they were, that was pretty awesome.. lol.. We made up forty bags of food w/commissary items to bless the people with. Most everyone accepted a bag. Many of the people shared their current plight and financial woes. Our reply to the people was for them to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all the things we need will be given to us by God. Amen!

I can share many encounters and testimonies from the day and so could all of our team. I have listed a few below that come to memory. It was a special day as usual as God moved and touched lives. Thanks again for everyone who prayed and supported the outreach. God bless you all!

On Sixth Street we met a man who called himself ‘Q’, he was so happy to get a bag of food. He literally ate much of the food while we ministered and prayed with him. He was delighted to get a toothbrush and tooth paste. –Terri L from Ohio—sent us a box of commissary items, which was a blessing-every bag had tooth paste/brush and deodorant in them. And ‘Q’ was overjoyed with the toothbrush and toothpaste. Thanks Terri!

And while a couple of the brothers were ministering to ‘Q’ I had the opportunity to minister to Sam, a man who was sitting on his walkway to his house. He was thankful for the food. I started to question his belief in Jesus and He said he believed in Jesus but wasn’t sure what that really meant, or why Jesus came. So it was an honor to minister to this man the purpose to which Jesus came and the importance of repenting and surrendering your life to Him. Sam prayed and came to know the Lord this afternoon! We embraced and praised God together! ..This was awesome!

We met a man on 3rd street who we met before, this gentleman, named Juan, who was so overjoyed to see us. He talked and shared about his struggle to stay positive during these troubled times. He has a couple of kids and a wife and the pressure is overwhelming at times. We noticed sincerity in him and how he really wants to trust the Lord more but sometimes is fearful. We ministered the importance of staying in the Word and being the spiritual leader in his house. Juan was so nice and pleasant to talk too. He really has a sweet spirit. We prayed and laid hands on him as we were on his front porch. God was really ministering to him.

On 3rd street we came across another man we met before- his name is slipping my mind currently but we entered his house and prayed over him and his grand daughter. This man is really going through a mental warfare as he testified to us that God delivered him from drugs and alcohol and he has been free for five years, but the enemy has been tempting him to deny Jesus and go back to satan. Those were his exact words. This brother knew the word and he knew it was an attack and I praise God that the Lord led us to him to encourage him in the Lord and to exhort him to remain steadfast with Jesus. We prayed over him and laid hands on him exhorting him to be faithful and to stand strong in the Lord.

These are just a short list of testimonies. To God be the glory for His moving and touching lives today. Thanks again everyone for your prayers. God bless!
