180 Outreach Ministries: August 2013

We just recently completed the Roosevelt Block-party Outreach and it was awesome! The day was beautiful and turnout was incredible! This was probably the largest outreach of the year. We estimate that over four hundred adults and kids showed up at the free block-party. We blessed and served over four hundred hotdogs and a hundred grilled cheese. It was a great day bringing Jesus to this area! Amen!

Roosevelt Park has been known for bloodshed, drug & Criminal activity, gang violence and drive by shootings. But this day our heart prayer was to change all that and shine a living Christ to the community and this is what these outreaches are all about, they are about showing people that there is a better way, that God is real and He loves them and will save them if they turn to Him and surrender all to Him. It’s about showing love in action to those who feel rejected and abandoned, sharing true life and hope. The truth is they are not rejected or abandoned by Jesus-they just need turn and live! Turn to Jesus and call out to Him! Amen.

We blessed the community with not only food but we also handed out free Bibles and Christian Books, we blessed the children with Face Painting and Balloons, we had free clothing for the needy and we shared some live anointed music. It was all awesome!

We ministering to so many. The whole team did a marvelous job of engaging with people, loving on them and serving them. To God be the glory!

Pastor Jeff, from Christ’s Kingdom Fellowship, shared a message to the community several responded to the call to come forward to receive Christ. A highlight for me was, as Pastor Jeff was giving the call to come forward for prayer, I went up into the pavilion to encourage any that were there who desired to come forward, and I saw a little boy by himself holding a new bible he received at the Book table. We made eye contact and as I approached him, I knelt down by him and asked if he would like to come forward to receive forgiveness for his sin and come to know Jesus. Without batting an eye he said yes and I took him by the hand and he stood up in front of everyone and walked forward with me to receive Christ! It was a beautiful moment! Praise God! After he prayed to ask Jesus to forgive him and be his Lord. His one prayer request was that his Dad would get out of jail. This broke my heart as I prayed for this little guy.

Many other great encounters took place this day, everyone we dialoged with was invited to the “New Beginnings” meetings we have every Wednesday evening right there at the Roosevelt Center. Roosovelt Center is right next to the park. So we hope many connect with us. Please pray for Gods drawing and his hand on all this.
