JUVENILE FACILITY ORIENTATION COMING UP

I wanted to give everyone a big shout of thanks for your participation in all the outreaches/ministry events that have been going on this year. It sure has been good. Many have received Christ, back sliders have repented, and the Word of God has been sown in hearts. It has been great! I know the Lord is pleased.

**If anyone is interested in ministering with the Lifeline team in the South Bend Juvenile Correctional Facility, please let me know as soon as possible. We have an orientation scheduled in the facility, August 24th at 5:00pm which is next Tuesday. The orientation will consist of filling out paper work (as a background police check), discussing regulations (do’s and don’ts), the shakedown procedure, finger printing and a tour of the facility.

Once approved with the facility you would be able to come in with the Lifeline team. We have weekly meetings in the facility every Friday. We also go in every other Tuesday. We have a 12 person team that rotates to cover these days. So usually, it amounts to once a month per person (more if they want to) We usually go in to the facility in teams of two or three, sometimes four. Both Fridays and Tuesdays meeting are from 6:30pm to 8pm.

The facility lets us minister in a class room. The meetings are voluntary so the young men who come do it on their own. We have anywhere from two to fifteen in the meetings.

Please pray to see if this is a ministry the Lord would have you be a part of. Call me if you have any questions or if you plan on coming. Thanks Saints.

ISLAND FEST 2010 RECAP-HIGHLIGHTS

ISLAND FEST OUTREACH WAS AWESOME!!
We had great ministry at Island Park in downtown Elkhart this last Saturday. Hundreds came from the local area to be blessed. There were several churches and ministries participating. This really was an incredible time of sharing/praying/ministering to so many of the people who came.

At many times it was non-stop ministering to people-sharing Jesus with them and praying with/for them. I personally had so many great God moments talking and sowing the Word with people, young and old alike. Many came to Jesus today, which is what this was all about. We gave out bibles to everyone who wanted one (over 3 cases of Bibles given out altogether) and a bunch of tracts, Christian books, CD's etc.

We had free food, a huge free clothes/Bible-book table, free haircuts, face painting, six live bands, some testimonies shared, prayers, bounce houses, a race car exhibition, kids game...it was awesome!

Many of the people that I connected with during street ministry showed up and I was able to talk to them again. A young man I met and prayed with to receive the Lord two years ago on the streets, he stoped over and talked to me. His name is William and he is still walking with Jesus and was happy to see me.

Many people when I asked, “What are your spiritual beliefs?”, had no answer. In fact, many seemed stunned. Of course, this opened the door for me to share the Gospel. One guy in particular was named John, he was a older guy that had many tattoo’s of the Alabama college football team. We talked a little bit about football, and when I brought up Jesus – he was speechless. He eventually shared a few bad experiences he had as a kid in church. He quit going and quit seeking God. He thought most church goers were hypocrites. I gave him he one-liner: “Id rather go to Church with a hypocrite than burn in hell with them any day.” I continued to talk to him about not letting hypocrites effect his walk with Jesus. When the conversation ended we both embraced and he took a Bible and said he would start reading it again. I’m continuing to pray for him.

One couple we met in the park during street ministry and invited to Island Fest weren't able to make Island Fest but they came to Church yesterday! That was cool. They have a huge family (7 kids) they are hungry for more of God!

We met a another young couple at the outreach who wanted Bibles. We gave them Bibles and stated talking to them. The young man was saved the gal wasn’t. We ministered to her for quite awhile then she prayed asked Jesus to be her Lord and savior. The guy was giving us high fives he was so excited!.. Praise God!

I met a guy who recently got out of jail. He heard the bands playing and came to the park to check it out. His name is Chad. During our conversation when I switched it over to the spiritual, I asked him “why do you think you will go to heaven?” – He said because “I keep the ten commandments.” This allowed me to share with him grace and faith- how that all of our works won’t get us to heaven. How all of or works are as filthy rags. After more dialog I was able to lead Chad to Jesus where he repented of works and asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior.
Praise God!

It almost seems like we live in a day and age when souls getting saved don’t excite us anymore. I’m not sure why this is? I guess it’s the sign of the times. But I can say, I know in heaven they rejoice when one person repents and lays down their life down for Jesus. Praise God! Draw them in Lord!

I have many more testimonies , but I need to stop...

Thanks everyone for your prayers and support... God is touching lives through these outreaches..
