Larry Christopoulos and myself went out to the downtown area of Elkhart this last Friday (Aug-17th) to share the Gospel and minister Jesus to whosoever. It turned out to be one of those situations that only God can orchestrate. ..What a divine appointment!!We went behind McDonald's on Main street and started talking to a group of guys we’ve met in the past. These are where some homeless men hang. We were sharing the Word with them and we noticed a new guy with them who really didn’t fit in with these guys. Larry started sharing with him and I talked with the other guys to give Larry an opportunity to minister to this man without these other guys butting in.
This new man’s name was Miguel he just came in from Chicago, a 33 year old man running from his problems. We took him inside McDonald's and bought him something to eat and talked to him and ministered to him.
A couple of real neat things about meeting Miguel is this man had just finished praying one hour before we met him. He was pray for God to help him; that he was sick of his life- sick of the drugs- sick of the alcohol sick of where he was at in his life. He was crying out for God to help him and God lead us right to him. PRAISE GOD!!.. God answers prayer!!
Miguel renounced the drugs – he renounced the alcohol and totally surrendered his life to Jesus!! We ministered to him for a good couple of hours and got him lodging for the night. His plans are to hook up at the Faith Mission where they minister to the residents and to get a job and go back home.
