Christmas Outreach 2012 -Making Friends!

Here is a quick update on this years’ seventh annual Christmas Box Outreach that we just completed this last Saturday.

It was totally incredible!

Because of other outreach events this year, we made the decision to still do the Christmas box Outreach but only have it as a “smaller scale”, we just didn’t have the time to do a large outreach. But this was one of the best most intimate outreaches
.
We basically hand picked nine families who we knew were in a very needy situation. Many of the families we connected with Saturday were either working a temporary day labor job, or they were unemployed. In fact one of the families we met was a single Mother, a precious lady with 4 children who just recently moved into her subsidized apartment as last week she was homeless. So it really was a total blessing to reach out to help these needy folk.

A big shout to Al Sabin (Visions Of Praise Ministries) as he assisted me delivering these Christmas Boxes into each homes to help love on and minister to the families. Each Christmas Box included a 5lb canned ham, boxed potatoes, canned vegetables, soup, pasta, cookies, etc. Also we included  a new Bible and a presents for the kids and teen-agers.

As I reflect back on the Christmas Box Outreach, I can’t help but realize that this event wasn’t just about helping some needy people. No, it was more than that. This was actually making friends today! We connected with people in an intimate way. We spend some quality time with each household.  We talked and dialoged.  We shared and they shared. We testified and exhorted the awesomeness of our God- Jesus! We laughed, we cried, we hugged. Words in some way can’t describe our day, especially in light of Friday’s Connecticut massacre, that shook our nation. People are emotional and people are fearful. So it was a blessing to minister Jesus with everyone, because it is only through Jesus that people can receive true peace, as He is the Prince of Peace! Amen. It was a blessing to offer comfort to the families as we prayed for the Lord’s protection over each family member including their children.

Yes, people were blessed and yes we supplied some food and helped elevate some of the Christmas financial strain by blessing the kids with some nice gifts. But more than all that, Jesus touched nine families today, which otherwise would not have been touched!! Amen! That is what this outreach is about, Jesus reaching lives Amen! Today, Nikki and her Mother came to Jesus today and asked Him to forgive them of their sins. Amen!... Mike, a man I work with, who I knew was struggling, was one of the nine families and he cried out to Jesus this day to forgive him of his sins. Amen! Praise God!

Please continue to pray for God to draw and complete the work He started. Many of the families we talked to are not attending church. Of course, we invited them to come to our fellowships, please pray they take that next step to be descipled to grow in the things of God.  Many told me this next Sunday they are coming to visit the church. Thanks for your prayers and for reading this.

I posted some pics below… As you view these please say a prayer for each family. Thanks Saints!

God bless!

Life Line Outreach/Teen Challenge Christmas Chapel

The Life Line Outreach/Teen Challenge Christmas Chapel was incredible!

It is an honor and a privilege to connected with the North Central Indiana Teen Challenge.  I totally love  the heart and vision of what Teen challenge is about, “discipleship” and “evangelism”. David Wilkerson founded the ministry in the late 1950’s- it is world wide  now and impacting lives everywhere. Amen.

Late last year, God connected Life Line Outreach with this ministry here in Elkahrt, IN and it has been awesome. Many of the brothers here at TC have been involved in helping and serving at our outreaches, either on the streets or in facilities. I love the servants hearts these men have as God is doing a transforming in so many of their lives.

This last Friday, December 7th, we were able to bless the men at Teen Challenge with a Chapel service. TC has a chapel service every Friday night at the center and it was a total honor and blessing to be able lead the service and bless the men of TC.

The night’s events started with a pizza meal before chapel. (Amen..can’t go wrong with that.…ha!) .. Then we went into pre-service prayer lead by my Pastor Jeff Cooper of Christ’s Kingdom Fellowship. From there we went right into a powerful worship time by the CKF worship team, it was a great time worshiping and praising our Lord! Then I gave the message entitled “Remember Lot’s Wife!” exhorting the brothers to not stop "half-way" and "look back." but to press forward into all that God has for them!..Amen. We had a powerful time around the altar, crying out to Jesus and praying for the brothers.

We concluded the evening by blessing the brothers at the center with a Christmas gift bag for each man and having fellowship with some cake.

(Please see the pic’s posted below)

A big shout of thanks to everyone who prayed and gave to make this possible! God is doing some great things at Teen Challenge and we are thrilled and blessed to be part of it.

**Please keep the Teen Challenge men in your prayers.

Also, pray for us at Life Line Outreach we will be passing out Christmas boxes to the needy and ministering Jesus to them this Saturday (Dec. 15th). Thanks so much!!

BASHOR 180 EVENT RECAP

Here's a quick update on the Bashor event we just had last night. It was called “the 180 Event.” Of course, “180” is all about change and going in a new direction. Amen. And that is what we believe for the students at Bashor- Is a change. A change from depression, rejection, vice, addiction, rebellion…A change from a life without Jesus to a life with Jesus, a life with victory! Amen.

Many of you know through the emails, that a team of us has been going into the Bashor Home to love on the students and build relationships with them. We go in twice a month. We play board games, we play basketball with the guys, we even have been teaching guitar. The whole reason is to build the relationships, to tear down the walls that separate trust and openness.

We felt, as progress was getting made, to launch out and have a campus wide meeting called the “180 event” at this event everyone at Bashor would be invited and we would play some music, minister the Word of God, share some testimonies and call the students to prayer to make a “180” move to accept Jesus.

Of course, we had some fun- we allowed one the students to perform a couple of songs. We also blessed the students with some awesome gifts. It was a great time!

Youth Pastor Scott Phenis, delivered a powerful message to the students, sharing how God uses the insignificant things to complete His will. He shared the Bible account (John 6) how Jesus used  a little lads insignificant lunch of  five loves and 2 fish to feed over five thousand people. Pastor Scott went on exhorting the students that even though they may feel insignificant they a precious and important to God and how God can totally change a live if we come to Him. Amen!

It was a powerful word and many students came forward for prayer.  We’re excited! In fact, I am total overjoyed because over twenty students signed up for Bible study! Praise God! Please keep the Bashor students in prayer. Please pray for the Lord to give us wisdom and continued direction for His plans at Bashor.

Please check out the pictures below to get a feel for the 180 event. We are hoping to do more of these events at Bashor in the future.

*Also, please pray for us as we are ministering at the Elkhart Teen Challenge this Friday (Nov 7th) this will be the Life Line Outreach/Teen Challenge Christmas Chapel. We are blessing everyone with pizza served at the center, some awesome worship, and a message from the Word. Amen. Then afterward, we made up some cool Christmas gift bags to bless the guys with at the center..Its going to be a great time.

Thanks for reading!... Thanks for your prayers and support. God bless!
